One of SRCW’s most important partners is the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). This state agency has a vital interest in reliable and accurate positioning information. The SRCW’s work to improve and modernize the statewide reference system will dramatically impact such projects as the US395 project north of Spokane, the new I-5 bridge project near Vancouver, WA and the Tacoma Narrows bridge addition just to name a few. It is these large-scale projects that will most benefit from the SRCW’s focus on a high quality positioning system across the state.

In addition, SRCW’s work to deploy high accuracy real-time GPS will provide staggering cost savings for these projects as well as support the move to GPS "machine-control" construction methods.
